About This Trip
This 2-day Lower Mustang tour from Pokhara offers a memorable journey through Nepal's most dramatic landscapes and sacred cultural sites. Travelling along the Kali Gandaki Valley, you will witness a stunning transition from green hills to the dry, wind-sculpted terrain of Mustang, with magnificent views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges throughout the drive.
On the first day, travel towards Jomsom and continue to the ancient village of Kagbeni, the historic gateway to Upper Mustang. Explore its narrow alleys, traditional mud-brick houses and centuries-old monasteries deeply influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. The peaceful atmosphere and timeless lifestyle make Kagbeni a true cultural highlight.
The journey also includes a visit to the sacred Muktinath Temple, one of the most important pilgrimage sites for both Hindus and Buddhists. Located at an altitude of 3,800 metres, Muktinath is famous for its 108 water spouts and eternal flame, symbolising purification and salvation. Visitors can experience the spiritual ambiance and breathtaking mountain surroundings.
On the second day, explore the charming village of Marfa, renowned for its whitewashed houses, clean stone-paved streets, apple orchards and local apple brandy. Experience authentic Thakali culture before driving back to Pokhara, concluding a short yet enriching Himalayan adventure.
